Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Receives incoming and ships outgoing materials, products, or supplies. Counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, recording any
discrepancies. Prepares receiving or shipping reports and notes any shortages or damages. Usually requires a minimum of 3 months relevant experience.
Shipping/Receiving
Supervises the shipment or receipt of outgoing or incoming materials, parts, or
products. Studies shipping and receiving processes for effectiveness. Suggests
improvements to distribution procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or
reduce costs. Documents shipping or receiving information. Completes reports
for
management. Usually the highest level shipping/receiving position requiring 3-6
years relevant experience.
Supply Clerk
Delivers requested supplies to internal departments. Receives orders and
reviews for proper codes and approval signatures. Stocks delivered items and
checks shelves for appropriate inventory levels. Prepares purchase orders as
needed. Checks stock for outdated or damaged supplies. Usually requires 6-12
months relevant experience.
Truck Driver
Drives a truck between mid to large size with at least 4 ton capacity to pick
up or deliver cargo within a local area. Records travel and vehicle maintenance
information in logs. Operates a winch, hoist, or other equipment to unload or
load truck. May prepare a delivery statement, collect payment, or a receipt for
goods picked up. Usually requires a Class C drivers license.
Warehouse Manager
Ensures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in
an efficient manner. Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against
loss. Evaluates inventory on hand. Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
Usually the highest level distribution or warehouse position and requires 3-6
years relevant experience.
Warehouse Specialist
Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or
delivery of products, parts, and materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores
items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions.
Operates a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment. Usually an
intermediate or fully qualified level requiring 6 months to 1 year of relevant
experience.
Warehouse Supervisor
Leads and controls activities of company warehouse personnel. Ensures shipping,
receiving, storage, and distribution are performed in an efficient manner.
Takes
precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews
warehouse documents and reports. Usually the first level of supervisor, and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.
